About Evvy

Evvy is on a mission to close the gender health gap by discovering and leveraging overlooked female biomarkers, starting with the vaginal microbiome.

In 2021, Evvy launched the first and only at-home vaginal microbiome test to use metagenomic sequencing to tell you what’s up down there, why it matters, and what you can do about it. Insights from the test led to the expansion of Evvy’s innovative vaginal health platform, which now brings together state-of-the-art testing, precision care, and proactive tracking to give women and people with vaginas the healthcare they deserve.

Through this platform, Evvy is building the real-world datasets necessary to transform our understanding of complex health conditions in the female body.

Why Now

Evvy is breaking boundaries to advance women’s health with more affordable and comprehensive testing and data analysis to shatter the gender health and research gap. This all starts with Evvy's vaginal microbiome metagenomics test.

While Evvy is not the first startup to sell a home testing kit for the vaginal microbiome, they are the only commercially available test using metagenomics. Metagenomic sequencing is able to capture more data than other commercial tests — or even the typical tests a woman is able to obtain via a doctor’s office—providing a higher fidelity view of what’s going on inside a woman’s vagina.

The data sets Evvy is building from its metagenomic tests will catalyze a new era in women's health at a time when women's health companies are starting to mature in the market; however, there still exists a plethora of under-researched conditions in the female body.
